The Chinese Language Program (CLP) was started by the Language Center at National Central University (NCU) in 2001 and has already earned itself an outstanding reputation in the field. The core responsibilities of the program are to teach foreign students and non-native speakers Chinese as a second language and to help deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.

Course (5 day/ week extension classes)

This course is for foreigners from both inside and outside of campus and above 18 years old. There are four terms in a year; each term is 12-week long, offering 120-hour Class (10 hours/ week) and 180-hour Class (15 hours/ week).
All classes are divided into Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced levels, which are further grouped into 3 to 5 more levels according to the students’ proficiency in Chinese language.

 

Admission

Required Documents:

  1. Application Form (downloadable from the CLP website)
  2. One photocopy of the applicant’s highest diploma/or education certificate
  3. One photocopy of applicant’s passport (bio-data page)
  4. Financial statement: 
  5. The statement should be issued within the last 3 months.
  6. Students should provide a statement or letter from their bank showing that they have the necessary financial resources i.e. NTD$ 85,000 (USD$2,400) to cover all expenses during their stay in Taiwan.

  1. Apply in Taiwan: 2 weeks before the commencement of the course.
  2. Apply from foreign countries: 1 month before the commencement of the course
