To Whom it May Concern,
My name is Austin Kerr-Valentic, I am a 27 year old American with a honors degree in Biology from the University Of Oregon. I am planing on moving to Taiwan in the new few months, and I am very interested in securing a teaching position before my arrival. I majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry as a undergraduate, and spent a great amount of time tudoring my classmates. My diligent academics earned my acceptance to medical school at Western University Of Health Sciences in California, which I briefly attended before deciding to turn my attention to teaching. During my time at University I designed a carried out a project that sent me to Ecuador to collect Orchids. One of those Orchids is new to science, and served as a launching platform for the Undergraduate Research Club which I began on the University of
Oregon Campus and also speaks to my ability as a teacher. Parallel to my University life was working in Pharmacy where I managed and instructed others in pharmacy operations and exam preparation.
There are many reason for why I have chosen to come to Taiwan. I desire to learn Mandarin, as I think it is a beautiful and valuable language. I also wish to use my university degree in my work. The recession in America has made it difficult to find meaningful jobs here. I greatly enjoy children, and I look forward to working with children from elementary-aged kids to young adults. In addition to working with children I am also interested in teaching Technical English classes to adults. Specifically, Medical English for nurses and doctors who wish to communicate more effectively with foreigners, or for those who wish to come to America for work, and English for
Social Media, which explores all the variations and usages of abbreviations in order to limit your message to 140 characters. In addition to teaching Biology and English, I also enjoy traveling,
playing the guitar, and writing stories.
I have attached a copy of my curriculum vitae or resume as well as a photo of myself. Please let me know what the next step would be in securing employment in Taiwan. I greatly look forward to learning more about the opportunities which may bring me to your beautiful country.
Thank you very much,
Austin Kerr-Valentic
