Nestled in the heart of the Gulf of Guinea on the West Coast of Africa, Ghana is a land with miles and miles of sun-dappled beaches, the home of the Ashanti, and the land of gold. With its beautiful landscape, lush green palm trees, and many ethno-linguistic groups, Ghana offers some of the most memorable travel experiences of Africa. In Ghana, our TEFL program is located in Accra - the capital city - offering some of the most beautiful beaches as well as other places of interest such as the Perpetual Flame, the National Museum, craft markets, the Makola Market, Liberation Square, and the tropical gardens.
The TEFL program in Ghana is an extensive 4-week/150-hour program - including 125 hours of course materials and in-class work with an instructor and an additional 25 hours of volunteer English-teaching. Both extensive and fun, the TEFL program provides participants with comprehensive training in a professional and supportive environment.
The School
The TEFL Institute school in Ghana is located in the heart of Accra, providing participants with easy assess to the major areas of Accra. The school is approximately 5 km from the Accra International Airport and offers a modern office with all audio-visual facilities.

Room/Food
Our TEFL program offers housing and meals in a local host family in Accra. Participants' hosts offer a separate, private room with three (3) local meals a day. Should participants wish to stay in a hotel, accommodations can be arranged for additional fees. The program fee also covers airport pick-up, insurance, and field support
Job Options
Being a small developing county, there are currently no employment opportunities for paid teaching in Ghana. However, Global Crossroad can place participants in an English-teaching program for a significantly discounted fee.
Arrival Information
All participants should arrive at the Accra International Airport in Ghana.
Transfer from Airport to Host family or Hostel
TEFL Institute offers airport pick-up and transfer services to participants to either their respective hotel or host family. TEFL Institute does not offer airport drop-off services. Teachers are required to provide flight information prior to arrival.
How can I reach to school?
In the event that participants arrive earlier than the designated start date, they are advised to remain in their hotel and call TEFL Institute's office in Ghana - provided in your pre-departure package; placement details.
Accommodations/Food
The Program fee covers housing and meals provided by a local host family - offering a separate, private room and three (3) local meals a day. Should participants wish to stay in a hotel, these arrangements can be made for an additional fee. The cost of the hotel can range from $5-100 per day in Accra -depending upon the quality of the hotel.

Accra is the business center and capital of Ghana offering internet and telephone access as well as medical facilities within a 2-3 km area. |
