The School

TEFL Institute's school is located on South Pattaya Road, Pattaya, Chonburi. If you'd like all the conveniences of a big city in a compact, fun area, Pattaya is the place to be. Within easy walking distance in any direction from the school are incredibly inexpensive internet café s and innumerable food shops offering mouthwatering Thai cuisine at ridiculously low prices.

TEFL Certification (6 weeks)

(6-week) TEFL Certification trains and develops participants' skills and confidence to teach conversational English as a foreign or second language to natives of non-English speaking countries, and offers the unique advantage of allowing graduates to discover, in advance, what learning problems their students have and what to do about them, regardless of where in the world they are teaching. This class's emphasis is on conducting successful, competent communication within classes. In addition, this course qualifies successful participants to teach writing and reading courses at any level to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Housing Options

With advanced notice, TEFL Institute can reserve excellent housing accommodations for participants. Some accommodations are usually available within a 5 minutes' walk of the TEFL school. These accommodations usually run up to 4,300 baht (less than $100 US) per month. Participants are provided with a large, one-bedroom, air-conditioned apartment which is fully furnished with large bed, dresser, table, chairs, refrigerator and telephone, as well as a cable television connection. A 5,000 baht (about US $115) security deposit is charged when upon arrival and is refunded (fully/partially) when departing. NOTE: a variety of food is available for purchase in Pattaya. Our school may also assist you, at your own cost, to acquire a direct telephone line and Internet service for your apartment, if you so desire.

Transfer from Airport to Hostel/Hotel

TEFL Institute DOES NOT provides airport pick-up and transportation services. TEFL Institute will provide the address of the TEFL school where participants are to arrive upon arrival in Pattaya, and will also provide a map to help you and your taxi arrive there without problems or difficulty.

How can I contact the school if I arrive before the start of the TEFL program?

In the event that participants arrive before the proposed start-up date, they are advised to remain in a hotel from which they will then call TEFL Institute’s offices. This information, such as the address and telephone numbers of our Thailand TEFL office, will be included the in the final placement details provided in the supplied pre-departure booklet.

Internet/Telephone/Medical Facilities

Pattaya is a great tourist location of Thailand - offering all these facilities/services within a 1-2 km radius.

How much work is involved with the course?

The course is very intensive and requires a strong commitment by the student. One can expect to be in class for about 5-6 hours a day, plus time spent in practice teaching (usually 6 hours during the course), along with a few hours of work at home. TEFL Institute recommends that trainees have no other personal or professional commitments outside the course during this six weeks of training.
